Red Alert -- Israel

The Alpha-Omega Report has cancelled plans to suspend normal news operations for the American holiday weekend due to rapidly changing events in Israel. A-O will be providing ongoing WAR coverage all weekend long - posting as often as needed with coverage on the escalating events unfolding in Israel between Israel and the Palestinians. Our sources indicate that the situation As a result, we're now going to a RED Alert phase as it now seems war itself is now "breaking out" in the Gaza Strip. The situation is reported by our sources inside Israel as being very grave, very tense. Sources are also reporting that Syria and Iran may well be dragged into military action vis-a-vis the Hezbollah militia units stationed along Israel's northern border. More on this below, but our point is that the situation is now "VERY FLUID" and unpredictable. ANYTHING could happen.

Debkafile reports that negotiations to release the kidnapped Israeli soldier have ended in fiasco. At the moment, the Israeli government is meeting to decide how to proceed with military action. Reports suggest a debate rages as to whether to implement an immediate all-out clash or blitz with Hamas and re-occupy all or most of Gaza or engage in incremental phases of development. Either choice is going to result in untold numbers of casualties on both sides that apparently are unavoidable now.

Hamas is preparing for war. Hamas, reportedly, used the 2-day lull to rally 7 Fatah "al Aqsa" Brigades into joining Hamas forces in fighting Israeli troops. It now appears that the Palestinians are expecting "War." The 7 al-Aqsa Brigades units are in actuality "suicide squads" and have Jerusalem connections to the Temple Mount Mosque. At A-O we suspect that these units will engage in some form of terrorism acts in or around the Jerusalem area to divert military forces away from the Gaza Strip.

Debkafile is indicating that major war is now on the verge of breaking out and perhaps escalating far beyond its present boundaries. This assessment parallels our own sources inside Israel also suggesting the same thing.

The situation at this moment is shifting from an "Orange alert" to a "Red Alert. Iranian-backed Hezbollah forces in Lebanon are now poised for "War." The group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah has announced that when Israeli forces attack Hamas in the Gaza Strip, all Palestinian forces on Israel's northern border will launch an invasion of Israel from the north. Again, if so, this will indeed become an all-out warfare situation. The question then becomes - will the actions also draw in Syrian and Iranian military forces. We note that Iran has already begun dispatching its Revolutionary Guards to the Sinai Peninsula to assist the Palestinians in Gaza. There is also word from A-O sources that Al Qaida had already dispatched fighting units to Gaza for reinforcments in any fight against Israel.
